The YMCA's Diabetes Prevention program is a community-based lifestyle improvement program for adults with prediabetes. The evidence-based program was designed provide adults with lifestyle changes and empower them to maintain their new routines to improve overall health and reduce their chance of developing type-2 diabetes.
YMCA of the Suncoast is dedicated to safety, and improving senior health and wellness through grant-funded programs Enhance®Fitness and Healthy Steps for Older Adults. Identifying fall risk, and learning ways to be safe in addition to exercise, is how seniors can maintain active lifestyles without worry.
M.A.S.H. – Mainstream Adults Sharing Hope program is for people age 18 and above who have with physical and cognitive disabilities. Participants meet for activities that encourage socializing, developing healthy habits and uplifting the spirit through community involvement, inside and outside the Y.
The Salsa, Sabor y Salud builds on the rich traditions and values of Hispanic and Latino cultures to help families adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles. It enhances family time, creating opportunities for families to play, cook and eat together. Families participate actively in a series of eight sessions at either the Clearwater or High Point YMCA.
YMCA Survivorship & Wellness Program Powered by Moffitt serves people affected by cancer and empowers them to reclaim their health and well-being. YMCA of the Suncoast is honored to offer this program to residents of Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
